Wolcottville Sign Project 5K Fun Run/Walk & 1 Mile Dash
The Wolcottville Sign Project 5K Fun Run/Walk and 1 Mile Dash is a community sports event held in Wolcottville, Indiana. The primary purpose of the gathering is to raise funds for local improvements, specifically the installation of a new town entrance sign. The event features two distinct distances:
- 1 Mile Fun Run (restricted to ages 13 and under)
- 5K Fun Run/Walk (open to all ages)
The course for both distances begins at the Field Of Dreams on East 1150 N. The 1 Mile route features a family-friendly atmosphere with bubbles and a tunnel of trees. For the 5K, the path travels through a half-mile tunnel of trees toward Main Street, heading north to Cemetery Street. Participants pass through a scenic cemetery surrounded by more tree tunnels before continuing past the Town Hall and through historical areas of Wolcottville. The route includes views of the Wolcott-Yale bed and breakfast and Railroad Street before returning through the tree tunnel to the finish line.
Both distances are professionally timed. All participants in the 1 Mile event receive a participation medal, with additional awards presented to the top three winners. In the 5K event, awards are provided to the top finishers. Participants who register by mid-August are guaranteed an event shirt, with a limited number of extra shirts available for those who register later or on the day of the event.
