Woking Autumn Triathlon & Junior Aquathlon
The Woking Autumn Triathlon & Junior Aquathlon is a multi-discipline event held at Woking Leisure Centre and Woking Park. It offers pool-based swims, road cycling laps and a lapped park run, with separate junior and adult race categories.
Swim The swim takes place in the six-lane competition pool operated by Freedom Leisure and includes a viewing gallery for spectators. Races use a snake-style start. For swims longer than 300 m, the first 150 m are swum in lane 1 before snaking to the far end. Entrants are asked for an estimated swim time to help seed the start order.
Bike The bike leg leaves the leisure centre and follows an open-road circuit between Mayford and Jacobs Well. SuperSprint competitors complete one lap and Sprint competitors complete two laps. The route includes a few short inclines and is described as mainly flat and fast. Riders return to transition via the junction at the end of the laps.
Run The run takes place inside Woking Park on a lapped course that is approximately 80% tarmac and 20% hard-packed trail. The route passes the central park area multiple times. Junior aquathlon competitors use variations of the adult route.
Race formats and ages
- Sprint Triathlon: 400m swim, 20.6 km bike, 5 km run (age 15+)
- Sprint Triathlon Relay: 400m swim, 20.6 km bike, 5 km run (teams of 2 or 3, age 15+)
- SuperSprint Triathlon: 200m swim, 13.6 km bike, 3.3 km run (age 15+)
- Adult Aquathlon: 400m swim, 5 km run (age 15+)
- Junior Aquathlon: aged 8 to 16
