About the race
Withins Skyline is a fell race organized by Wharfedale Harriers, held at Penistone Hill Country Park. The main event is about 6.2 miles with around 820 feet of ascent, starting from the quarry bottom and circling The Stoop and Top Withens before returning via Bronte Bridge. The course traverses boggy moorland and involves climbing along a watershed to the Pennine Way, finishing back at the cricket pitch.
The day also includes junior races, with Curly Wurly goody bags sponsored by Precision Pest Management and Halloween-themed fancy-dress prizes. Seniors compete for a substantial prize list, with three-entry teams free; note there’s no electricity at the cricket hut. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
