Witches Wave - Halloween Run Half Marathon
Witches Wave is a Halloween-themed running event at Bolsa Chica State Beach, Lot 25 in Huntington Beach, California. The event offers several distance options and family activities on the same day.
Distances include:
- 5K, 3.1 miles
- 10K, 6.2 miles
- Half Marathon, 13.1 miles
- Pumpkin Kids Dash, 200 yards
All finishers in the listed distances receive a finisher medal. Kids in the Pumpkin Kids Dash receive a medal and a mini pumpkin at the finish. The event is chip-timed and includes age group awards, plus awards to the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance.
A costume contest is part of the program, along with a Witch’s Cackle Showdown. Post-race activities described for the finish area include a DJ, a trick-or-treat candy station, Halloween-themed photo opportunities, a Monster Mash dance-off, and a pumpkin ring toss with prizes.
Parking at Bolsa Chica State Beach is subject to the state park vehicle charge of $15 per vehicle. Limited metered street parking is available and use of the Pacific City parking structure is mentioned as an option, with a short 3/4-mile jog to the race start.
