Santa Claus For A Cause 10K
The Santa Claus For A Cause event takes place at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach. This holiday-themed race features a course set along the beach, where participants encounter falling snow, live carolers, and festive music. The event includes several distance options to accommodate different participants:
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Kid's Dash (400m)
Participants in the 10K and 5K receive chip-timed results. Each registered runner can choose between a full Santa suit, a Santa beanie, or a custom race shirt. Every finisher is awarded a custom medal designed to function as a Christmas ornament. The Kid's Dash offers distances of 100m, 400m, and 800m (two laps) depending on age appropriateness, with finisher medals for all children.
The event site at Lot 25 includes various holiday activities, such as a costume contest for participants and pets, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. Food vendors are present on-site offering items like tamales, tacos, coffee, and fruit for purchase.
The race proceeds are used to support global humanitarian efforts, providing staple goods and schooling in Africa and Nepal, as well as local health initiatives. The course is open to strollers and leashed pets. Parking is available at the state beach for a fee, with alternative public parking located nearby in Sunset Beach.
