Witches in the Woods 5K

Witches in the Woods is a Halloween themed nighttime run and walk held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point on October 30, 2026. The route passes through trees and along fairground roads. Participants are asked to bring flashlights or headlamps for visibility.

Event entry includes a ticket to the Hometown Hocus Pocus Market, which features artisan vendors, live music, food, craft drinks, trick or treating, and performances by the Sanderson Sisters. The market takes place in the Industrial Building at the fairgrounds and runs on the evening of the event and the following day.

Additional event features listed by the organizer include finisher medals for the first 300 registrants, awards for top overall finishers and the top three in each age group, and prizes for best costumes. Strollers are welcome and children under three are free. Packet pickup and registration occur at the event.

Entry fees and apparel details are set by the organizer. The listed fees include a standard adult entry for the 5K and a lower fee for a non timed shorter course and for children aged three to twelve. Shirts are offered for an additional fee through October 19, with a limited number possibly available after the event.
