Wissahickon Trail Classic
The Wissahickon Trail Classic is an outdoor sports event located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 2006, the event is designed to highlight the Wissahickon Valley Park trail system. The 17th edition of the event takes place on June 6th, 2026, starting and finishing at W. Northwestern Avenue.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km trail race
- 1 mile family-friendly guided nature hike
The nature hike is conducted along Forbidden Drive, while the 10 km race utilizes the park's trail system. Registration options include a basic entry or a package that includes an annual membership with the Friends of the Wissahickon, a community that supports the park and its watershed.
The funds generated from the event are used for the stewardship of the trail system and the local watershed. The course for the 2026 edition is planned to follow the same general route as previous years, moving through the forested terrain of the city’s parkland. The event brings together several hundred runners and walkers from across the region to support the maintenance of the local natural environment.
