About the race
Wise Raven Trail Race is scheduled for October 17, 2026 at Camp Heidelberg - K-W Optimist Club in Waterloo, Ontario. The event raises funds for Run-Walk-Roll for WRHNCC; any money in excess of expenses will be donated. This is the eleventh year supporting WRHNCC and the race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.
Entry is limited to 115 spots. The course uses a well marked 2.5 km loop through the forested Camp Heidelberg property. Out of the start-finish area runners pass a covered aid station and the Camp Heidelberg pond. The route is primarily fast, groomed trails with some short technical sections containing rocks and roots and a few rolling hills.
Each loop has approximately 45 m of elevation gain. October weather can include rain or snow, and there is ample room at the aid station for drop bags. Available formats include: - 5 km (2 loops) - 10 km (4 loops) - 25 km (10 loops) - 50 km (20 loops) - 6 hour individual option - 6 hour relay option The 6 hour relay uses 2.5 km laps; teams of 2 to 4 members register under one team captain, pass an ankle timing chip in the designated area, and complete full laps without substitutions mid lap. The event is electronically timed by Chiptime Results.
There is plenty of parking. No dogs and no alcohol are allowed on the property. This is a cup-less event so participants should bring their own water bottles.
Pacers are not permitted. No refunds are offered; runners may defer to the following year. Distance transfers are allowed with payment when moving to a longer distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
