General Information
The Wise Raven Trail Race is a trail running event held at the Camp Heidelberg - K-W Optimist Club site in Waterloo, Ontario. The event is limited to 115 spots. Any money in excess of expenses will be donated to the "Run-Walk-Roll for WRHNCC" initiative. The race is a sanctioned event by Athletics Ontario.
The Course
The course consists of a 2.5 km loop on well-marked forest trails. The loop features a fast, flat initial section, followed by some short, more technical sections with rocks and roots, and a few rolling hills. Each loop has approximately 45m of elevation gain. Participants can set up a drop bag at a covered aid station area.
Distances
Participants can choose from several formats:
- 5 km (2 loops)
- 10 km (4 loops)
- 25 km (10 loops)
- 50 km (20 loops)
- 6 Hour (timed challenge)
- 6 Hour Relay (teams of 2-4 runners, 10am start)
The course closes at 4:00 PM. The 50km distance has an 8-hour cutoff.
Logistics
Electronic timing is provided by Chiptime Results. Parking is available. This is a cup-less event; participants must bring their own water bottle. Dogs and alcohol are prohibited on the property. Pacers are not allowed on the course.
Aid Station & Awards
The aid station will have drinks (water, pop, electrolytes) and snacks (candy, chips, pickles, and sometimes PB&J sandwiches and pie). All participants will receive a finisher's medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
