Wirral Seaside Run
The Wirral Seaside Runs are held as a series of six monthly events organized by the Pensby Runners. This race is the fifth event in the sequence and takes place on the Merseyside coastline. The competition is open to participants aged 11 and over, including UKA members and guide runners.
The course is located along a flat and fast route that serves as a consistent indicator of performance. Participants run on the sea embankment, following a point-to-point path that begins near Leasowe Lighthouse in Moreton. The route continues along the embankment to the finish line situated at Harrison Drive, specifically near the Lifeguard Station.
Available distances:
- 5 km
The event has been a established part of the regional running calendar for over 30 years. Registration and number collection take place at the lighthouse before the start. Because the course ends at a different location from the start, many participants choose to run back to the car park at the lighthouse or arrange for separate transport at the finish line. Runners who participate in multiple events in the series are instructed to keep their race numbers for future use. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
