Wirral Multi-Terrain League : Wirral Country Park
The Wirral Multi-Terrain League is a midweek series of four races held in September across venues in the Wirral. The series includes an event at Wirral Country Park (Thurstaston) on 1 September 2026 and additional rounds at Royden Park (Frankby), Harrison Drive (Wallasey) and Arrowe Park.
Courses run over varied surfaces including sand, rocks, mud and hills. Senior race distances fall between 6.5 km and 8 km, while junior events are approximately 2 miles. Entrants must be able to complete their race within one hour for the safety of competitors and volunteers. Minimum age for the senior (main) event is 15 on the night of the first race; junior races are for those aged 11 and over.
Entry options for the series and single races are offered with published fees. There is a guide runner category for a runner accompanying a blind athlete. Awards are given for the series as a whole, with individual positions generally based on the best three of four races. Team scoring covers all four races; male teams typically consist of five scorers and female teams of three scorers. Ages for categories are taken as at the date of the first race.
