Wipe Out Colorectal Cancer 5k
The Wipe Out Colorectal Cancer 5k Run/Walk is presented by Rowan Diagnostic Clinic. The event takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Salisbury, North Carolina. Proceeds fund free colonoscopies for those in need within Rowan County, supported by a partnership with the Checkit4Andretti Foundation and Community Care Clinic of Rowan.
The event features two activities. A 5k run/walk starts at 9:00 a.m. from Overton Elementary (1825 West Park Drive). A Fun Run for children ages 8 and under starts at approximately 10:30 a.m. from 611 Mocksville Avenue. The 5k course begins near the school's baseball field, proceeds along West Park Road, Hickory Drive, E. Park Road, and onto a Greenway path, before returning to the finish line at Overton. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Race day registration and check-in is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at Overton Elementary. Entry fees are $30 for the 5k with preregistration ($35 on race day); the Fun Run is free. Participants can receive awards. Top three overall male and female finishers in the 5k are recognized, along with the top three in various age groups. Preregistered participants are guaranteed a quality shirt, available on race day while supplies last.
After the 5k, a gathering at Rowan Diagnostic Clinic (611 Mocksville Avenue) will include a coffee truck, music, donuts, and swag bags. Timing and scoring is provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
