Winter's End - 50 Mile Ultra & Marathon is a trail event on Saturday 21 March 2026. It takes place along the South Downs Way National Trail, starting near Arundel in West Sussex and finishing in Winchester or at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, depending on the distance chosen. The 50 mile race is a point-to-point ultramarathon that follows chalk ridge trails, passing villages and ancient woodlands. The organiser is BigFeat Events.

Course, aid and facilities
All courses are fully marked and have aid stations that offer sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat cola. Precision Fuel & Hydration PH 1000 electrolyte will be supplied on course. The 50 mile race includes two village hall checkpoints with toilet facilities, hot food and drinks. A bag drop tent is available at each start and bags are transported to the finish.
Logistics and mandatory kit
Coach transport is provided from the finish locations to the start lines for the relevant race options; runners are expected to park at the stated finish locations. Canicross entries are not accepted. 50 mile runners must carry a headtorch, jacket and a pack or belt for a tracker; they must also carry at least 500 ml of fluid. 50 mile runners will have a kit inspection before collecting race bibs.
