Winters Couch to Track Charity Challenge
The Winters Runners and Walkers Club organizes the first annual Winters Couch to Track Charity Challenge on May 17, 2026 at the Winters High School Track, 909 Grant Avenue, Winters, CA 95694. The event offers three track challenges:
- 1 Mile Challenge, 4 laps around the track.
- 3.1 Mile 5K Challenge, 12.2 laps around the track.
- Unlimited Challenge, most laps completed during the event.
Registration categories include a Kids Challenge with a $20 fee and an Adult Challenge with a $30 fee. Registration is available online and in person on the event day. All participants receive a numbered custom race bib to be worn on the front. Finishers who register before May 1, 2026 and order a shirt will receive a custom race shirt; race day participants may receive shirts while supplies last.
The event is family oriented and open to children and adults; participants may crawl, walk, run, or use a run/walk approach. Water will be available on course and post race food will be provided. Parking is available in the high school lot on Railroad Avenue and nearby residential areas. Track entrances are on Hemenway Street.
This is a self timed event. Dogs and bicycles are not allowed on the track; strollers are welcome in the outer lanes. Participants should run or walk counterclockwise, with slower participants using outer lanes and faster runners using inner lanes.
Race proceeds above expenses are placed in the Winters Runners and Walkers Club Scholarship Fund. Scholarship awards will be granted in 2026 to graduating seniors planning to attend college. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
