Winters Couch to Track Charity Challenge
The Winters Runners and Walkers Club organizes the first annual Winters Couch to Track Charity Challenge at the Winters High School Track, 909 Grant Avenue, Winters CA 95694. The event offers track challenges for children and adults and supports a scholarship fund for Winters High School seniors who participated in track or cross country.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile : 4 laps around the track.
- 3.1 Mile (5K) : 12.2 laps around the track.
- Unlimited Challenge : most laps completed during the event window.
All participants receive a numbered custom race bib that must be worn on the front and visible to volunteers. Participants may crawl, walk, run, or combine walking and running. The event is timed by participants themselves. On course water and post race food are provided. Gift awards for completers are available while supplies last and are donated by local sponsors. Custom race shirts are provided to finishers who sign up before May 1, 2026; race day shirt availability is limited.
Parking is available at the high school lot on Railroad Avenue and nearby residential areas. Track entrances are on Hemenway Street. Dogs and bicycles are not allowed on the track. Strollers are welcome in the outer lanes. Track etiquette requires counterclockwise running or walking, slower participants use outer lanes, and faster runners use inner lanes.
Race proceeds above expenses will be placed in the Winters Runners and Walkers Club scholarship fund and awarded to graduating seniors in 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
