Winter Wakefield 10k

Event overview

The 2026 Winter Wakefield 5k & 10k takes place on January 17, 2026 at Wakefield Park (8100 Braddock Rd, Annandale, VA). The event offers the following distances:

• 10k

Points from these races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. The event partners with Operation Turbo for charity support.

Course, logistics, and services

The 5k is mostly paved with a short section of grass and limited elevation gain. The 10k is an out-and-back that includes some small hills and about 40% trail; course maps and elevation details are provided by the organizer. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for entrants registered before January 7; extras are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. Registration fees listed by the organizer: 5k $30 until Dec 31 (then $35), 10k $45 until Dec 31 (then $50); prices increase by $5 on race morning. Water stations: two on the 10k (approximately mile 2 and 4.9) and one on the 5k (approximately mile 1.75); Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are located inside the Wakefield RECenter.

Results and awards

Live results are posted online during the event and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. The top three men and women overall receive awards; first and second place are awarded in each listed age category (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
