Trail Running in Woldingham
The Woldingham Full and Half Marathon takes place at Woldingham School and Marden Park. The route is an out and back course that participants complete once for the half marathon or twice for the full marathon. The event utilizes a variety of terrains, including private roads, trail paths, and sections of public footpaths.
The course begins at Woldingham School, following a private road through a green valley before connecting to the North Downs Way. Runners traverse wooded areas and open spaces that provide views across Kent, Surrey, and the M25. The route includes navigation through Gangers Hill and Tandridge Hill, as well as a section of the Vanguard Way which features steep inclines with footstep sections.
Participants also pass the Woldingham Golf Club and run along trail paths adjacent to the golf greens. The course involves several road crossings, including Chalkpit Lane and Limpsfield Road, and sections that follow pedestrian footpaths for several miles. The final stretch returns under a railway bridge along a private drive leading back to the school grounds.
