The Winter Burke Lake event on January 24, 2026 offers race distances of:

- Half marathon
The event takes place at Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA. Points scored at the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers are welcome.
Course and logistics
All courses run on park trails. The route is described as fairly flat and well maintained, though runners will need to navigate roots in places. The 5k and 10k are single out-and-back courses. The half marathon is the out-and-back course done twice. Water and hydration: the half marathon course has nine water stations at specified mile markers, the 10k has three water stations, and the 5k has two; Gatorade will be available at some stations and station locations are subject to change.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered before January 14; sizes for race-day registrants are not guaranteed. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is offered and race prices increase on race morning by $5 per distance.
Results and awards
Live results are posted online. The event awards the top three men and women overall and awards first and second place in age categories 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible to also win age-group awards.
