Independence Day 5k, 10k, 15k and Half Marathon, Belmont Shores Long Beach
This event on Saturday, July 4, 2026 takes place along the Long Beach beach path in Belmont Shores. Check-in is at the tables nearest 54th Place at the start of the beach path. The stated address is 5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803.
The course is an open, marked route on the beach path. Runners are asked to be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. The layout uses out and back loops and includes the following distance options:
- 5k out and back on the beach path
- 10k two 5k loops on the beach path
- 15k three 5k loops on the beach path
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops on the beach path
An aid station at the turnaround near the start and finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, posted results within 12 to 24 hours of the event, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Early bird, race month, and race day pricing tiers are provided for each distance, and race day registration accepts cash, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit. Transfers are allowed by request and there is a no refund policy. Parking is free in nearby residential areas; the beach parking lot requires payment at a ticket machine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
