Winona Forest Backyard Ultra
Winona Forest Backyard Ultra is a backyard-format event held at the CCC Camp in Winona State Forest near Mannsville, NY. The course is a 4.167 mile loop located at the start/finish area where the aid station, timing tent, portajohns, and parking are also located. The venue is about 6 miles from Interstate 81. Runners may set up a personal area with tents and chairs on a first-come, first-served basis; power outlets are not available.
The format requires runners to complete each 4.167 mile loop within one hour and return to the starting corral to begin the next loop. Failure to finish a loop within the hour or to be in the starting corral at the top of the hour results in elimination. No pacers are allowed. Crew support is permitted at the start/finish area but no aid from crew or non-competitors is allowed once a runner is on the course. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not allowed.
Included with registration are a custom bib, a fully stocked aid station, food for runners and crew members, a commemorative koozie, a milestone sticker and DNF magnet, 24 hour emergency support, and a safe, well marked course.
