Winona Forest Backyard Ultra
Winona Forest Backyard Ultra is an endurance event held at the CCC Camp in Winona State Forest near Mannsville, NY. The course is a 4.167 mile loop that repeats each hour. Runners must complete each loop within one hour and be back in the starting corral to begin the next loop. Failure to finish the loop within the hour or to be in the corral at the top of the hour results in elimination.
The format continues with a new loop starting each hour until one runner completes a final loop and is declared the winner. Crew members are allowed to support runners from personal areas around the start and finish, but pacers are not permitted. Personal tents and gear may be set up on a first come first served basis; power outlets are not available.
There is one fully stocked aid station near the start and finish area with fluids, snacks, basic food items, and limited medical supplies. Aid station items are for registered runners during the event. Volunteers will staff timing and aid, and runners must use the common aid station on course.
Registration includes a race t shirt if registered by August 7, a custom bib, a commemorative tumbler, milestone stickers and a DNF magnet, food for runners and crew, 24 hour emergency support, and a marked course.
