Winnetka Bunny Hop Dash 5k
The Winnetka Bunny Hop Dash 5k is a family-oriented running event held on the Green Bay Trail. The race follows an out-and-back route along the bike path, which is described as a flat and fast surface. The event utilizes several waves to manage the flow of participants and reduce congestion on the trail.
The race takes place at the Winnetka Train Station at 754 Elm Street. Participants can find public parking in nearby lots and on the street. Because the course is localized to the trail, there are no water stations situated along the 5 km route; however, post-race water and granola bars are provided at the finish line and the main building area.

All participants are required to pick up their race packets prior to race day. Organized packet pickups are held on the Sunday and Friday leading up to the event at a retail location in Wilmette. While early pickup is mandatory, friends or family members are permitted to pick up packets for others.
This is a chip-timed event with live results provided electronically. While there are no formal competitive awards, all children participating receive a medal and bunny ears. Registration remains open until the morning of the event, with race day registration accepted via cash or check only. The event proceeds regardless of rain, shine, or snow.
