Wings for Life World Run Pittsburgh
The Wings for Life World Run App Run in Pittsburgh is an app-based charity running event on Lytle Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Instead of a traditional finish line, runners and wheelchair participants race to stay ahead of a Virtual Catcher Car.
The Virtual Catcher Car starts moving 30 minutes after the race start at 14 km/h and then increases speed until the last participants are caught. Participation requires the Wings for Life World Run mobile app.
The local course offers two distance options along the Monongahela River and features tree-covered paths and smooth trails. The event is accessible for wheelchair participants. Local provisions include a refreshment station, timing and race numbers, and local setup.
All entry fees and donations go directly to spinal cord injury research. The event is organized by Wings for Life World Run and lists Adidas as a global partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
