Wings for Life World Run Charlotte

The Wings for Life World Run is a global event where participants run simultaneously at various locations around the world. The App Run event in Charlotte takes place at Camp North End. This unique race format does not feature a traditional fixed finish line. Instead, participants use a mobile application to track their progress while being pursued by a Virtual Catcher Car.

The event is open to both runners and wheelchair participants. The race begins with the Virtual Catcher Car starting its pursuit 30 minutes after the initial start. Initially traveling at 14 km/h, the car gradually increases its speed at regular intervals. An individual's race concludes once the virtual vehicle "catches" them on the app.

Participants in Charlotte can run together at the Camp North End venue, which includes a local set-up with a refreshment station. The event utilizes the Wings for Life World Run App for timing and race number management. Financial contributions from the event are directed toward spinal cord research projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
