Event Overview
The Wings for Life World Run is an App Run event taking place in Hoboken, New Jersey. This global race features a unique format where participants compete side by side with wheelchair users. Instead of a traditional stationary finish line, runners and riders attempt to stay ahead of a Virtual Catcher Car.
The event utilizes a mobile application to track progress and manage the race format. The Virtual Catcher Car begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h, steadily increasing its pace until every participant has been overtaken. Financial contributions through entry fees and donations are directed toward spinal cord research projects.
Track Details
The course is located at Pier A Park, specifically starting at 100 Sinatra Drive. The route follows Sinatra Drive northward along the river, providing a view of the New York City skyline. Participants run to a turnaround point at 14th Street before returning toward the start area.
