Wings for Life - Montréal

The Wings for Life World Run is a global sporting event open to both runners and wheelchair participants. The competition features a unique format where there is no static finish line. Instead, participants use a mobile application to track their progress while being pursued by a Virtual Catcher Car.

The race dynamics involve a pursuit starting 30 minutes after the initial departure. The Virtual Catcher Car begins at a speed of 14 km/h and steadily increases its pace until every participant has been overtaken. An individual's race ends the moment they are caught by the virtual vehicle.

In Montréal, the organized App Run event takes place at 3780 rue St-Patrick. This gathering allows local participants to run together in a group environment while competing in the global rankings. The venue provides a local setup including refreshment stations for the athletes.

A significant aspect of this event is its charitable mission, as 100% of all entry fees and donations are directed toward spinal cord research projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
