Wings for Life World Run - Cardiff App Run Event
The Wings for Life World Run is a global event where participants across the world race simultaneously. The Cardiff App Run Event takes place at the Cardiff Arms Park Clubhouse. This event is open to both runners and wheelchair participants, who all compete together using a dedicated mobile application.
The event features a unique format without a stationary finish line. Instead, participants run or roll as far as possible before being overtaken by a Virtual Catcher Car. This digital vehicle starts 30 minutes after the race commencement at a speed of 14 km/h and periodically increases its pace until every participant has been caught.
The course is centered around the Cardiff Arms Park Stadium, which serves as both the starting and finishing point for the local gathering. Participants are required to use the Wings for Life World Run App to track their progress and distance.
A refreshment station is available on-site for participants. The event serves as a fundraiser for spinal cord research, with the entirety of entry fees and donations directed toward research projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
