Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey
The Wine Run 5k takes place on the grounds of The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, Colorado. The winery is situated on pastoral land with views of the Wet Mountains and has been in operation since July 2002. Participants move through a cross country style course that consists primarily of grass surfaces with some varying terrain.
This event is open to both runners and walkers. Participants select one of two available start times during the registration process to accommodate the number of attendees. The race is professionally timed and scored using electronic chips, and results are published online following the conclusion of the event.

Registration for the event includes several items for each participant. Every runner and walker receives a t-shirt made of ring-spun cotton and a finisher medal that is designed to function as a wine stopper. Additional items provided include a portable, shatterproof wine glass and a race bib. Upon completing the course, participants receive a pour of wine at the winery. The event also offers volunteer opportunities that allow individuals to assist with check-in or other tasks in exchange for a reduced registration fee.
