Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey
The event is a 5k run/walk held at The Winery At Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, Colorado. The course starts and finishes at the winery and is an out and back route that combines paved sections with cross country style terrain, so some areas have uneven footing. The course offers a tour of the winery property and Holy Cross Abbey and may be adjusted for road or property conditions.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a chip timed race bib, online posted results, and a pour of wine. Packet pickup is scheduled 4pm to 6pm on 8/29/26 at the winery; race day packet pickup opens one hour before each start wave.
The event partners with Royal Gorge RIO, a nonprofit focused on river accessibility, river conservation, water safety education, and whitewater recreation. Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each ten year category; categories are 19 and Under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and Over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Minors may participate with a discounted registration but will not receive a wine glass or a glass of wine.
