Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey
The Wine Run 5k is a running and walking event held on the grounds of The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, Colorado. The winery is situated on the pastoral grounds of The Holy Cross Abbey, positioned against the landscape of the Wet Mountains. Since July 2002, this location has served as a travel destination for visitors interested in Colorado wine production.
Participants complete a 5k distance on a course designed in a cross-country style. The terrain consists mostly of grass surfaces with some varying natural elevation. Because of the number of participants, the event utilizes two separate start waves to manage the flow of runners and walkers on the course.
The event includes professional chip timing and scoring provided by J3 Timing, with results published online following the conclusion of the race. Participants receive several commemorative items as part of their registration:

Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton t-shirt and a shatterproof, collapsible, and portable wine glass. Participants also receive a race bib with a timing chip and a finisher medal that is designed to function as a wine stopper.
