Event
The Wine and Chocolate Run is a 5K community race through historic San Marco in Jacksonville. The race starts in a single mass wave on San Marco Boulevard at the east end of San Marco Square. The event benefits ongoing beautification of San Marco Square and lists ASICS as a title sponsor.
Entry and packet pickup
Entry fees vary by date and age group; the fee includes a moisture-wicking running shirt in men’s and women’s sizes. There are no refunds. Packets are available at selected 1st Place Sports locations on Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11. Packets will be moved to the starting line for race day pick up beginning at 3:30 PM. Wine glasses are included in race packets; wine will be served in plastic cups at the event.
Post-race and hospitality
A wine and chocolate party follows the run. Each legal-age participant with a race bib is entitled to two wine pours. All wine must be consumed inside San Marco Square. Chocolate treats will be available.
Timing, awards and series
The race uses the Race Results Timing System; runners must cross the timing mats at the finish to appear in results. Prize money is offered to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the first master male and female (over 40). Age-group plaques are awarded to the top three in standard age brackets. The event is part of the 2024-2025 Jacksonville Grand Prix, with series points for top-ten age-group finishers.
Course rules and parking
Bikes and dogs are not allowed on the course; biking next to a runner may lead to disqualification. Parking will be limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
