Wine and Chocolate Run, San Marco Square
The Wine and Chocolate Run is a community 5K held on San Marco Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida, with proceeds supporting the ongoing beautification of San Marco Square. The route goes through the historic San Marco area and finishes at a wine and chocolate gathering in the square.
Post-race refreshments include red, white and sparkling wine and chocolate treats provided by Peterbrooke Chocolatier. Each participant of legal drinking age who presents a race bib is entitled to two wine pours. Wine served at the event must remain inside San Marco Square. Race packets include a wine glass; wine will be served in plastic cups at the finish. Packet pickup is available at selected 1st Place Sports locations on the days before the event, and packets are transferred to the starting area for race day pickup.
The event uses the Race Results Timing System; participants must cross the timing mats at the finish to be included in official results. Prize money is awarded to the top overall male and female finishers and to master winners, and custom plaques are given to the top three in multiple age categories. Bikes and dogs are not allowed on the course. Parking near the event is limited. The race is part of the Jacksonville Grand Prix series, with series points for top finishers in each age group.
