Windlesham Boxing Day Pram Race
The Windlesham Boxing Day Pram Race is a village event held every Boxing Day in Windlesham, Surrey. It is organised as a registered charity (No. 1145317) and focuses on raising money for local causes. The race has run for more than 40 years and is presented as a community tradition in the village.
Teams push decorated prams through the streets, often in fancy dress. Prizes are awarded for categories such as fastest pram, best dressed, and best engineered pram. The event relies on local sponsors and volunteers; sponsorship and volunteer support are used to help stage the race and appear on race materials.
In 2025 the event featured 47 prams, drew an increased number of participants compared with 2024, and raised £14,000 for charity. The race places emphasis on participation and fundraising, with organisers and the community contributing to event delivery and safety.
