Windermere Triathlons & Duathlons - Cockshott Point, Windermere
The Windermere Triathlon Weekend takes place on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July 2026 at Cockshott Point, Glebe Road, Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria (LA23 3GZ). The event combines triathlon, duathlon, aquabike and aquathlon formats across sprint, novice and standard distances.
Swimming takes place in Lake Windermere. Cycling routes run through Ambleside with the standard route circling the entire lake; sprint and novice bike routes use shorter loops. Running follows paths and trails along the shoreline near the transition area.
Event distances include:
- Novice Triathlon: 350 m swim, 20 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run, 20 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Standard Triathlon: 1,500 m swim, 48 km cycle, 10 km run
- Standard Duathlon: 10 km run, 48 km cycle, 5 km run
- Additional aquabike and aquathlon options follow sprint and standard swim and run distances
A secure Transition Area is provided for triathletes; racking numbers correspond to race and bike numbers, competitors only. Wetsuits are expected to be optional but are recommended for comfort and buoyancy. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. Entry fees are listed between £38 and £68. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise and a drink and snack. Public parking is available near Cockshott Point and Glebe Road.
