Event overview
Windermere Triathlons & Duathlons take place on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July 2026 at Cockshott Point, Glebe Road, Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria (postcode LA23 3GZ). The weekend includes triathlon, duathlon, aquabike and relay events. The swim takes place in Lake Windermere, the bike routes go via Ambleside with the standard route circling the lake, and the runs use shoreline paths and trails. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. There is ample public parking around Cockshott Point and Glebe Road.

- Novice Triathlon: 350 m swim | 20 km cycle | 2.5 km run
- Sprint (Short) Triathlon & Relays: 750 m swim | 20 km cycle | 5 km run
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run | 20 km cycle | 2.5 km run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim | 20 km cycle
- Standard Triathlon & Relays: 1,500 m swim | 48 km cycle | 10 km run
- Standard Duathlon: 10 km run | 48 km cycle | 5 km run
- Standard Aquabike: 1,500 m swim | 48 km cycle
Race administration and facilities
Wetsuits are expected to be optional depending on water temperature; they are recommended for comfort and buoyancy. A secure Transition Area will be used only by triathletes; race numbers and bike numbers will match racking positions, and competitors must show race numbers to enter. Bike numbers must be attached to bikes and helmets visible before entering transition; bib and bike numbers will be checked before bikes are removed. Participation requires British Triathlon membership or a single-use race pass. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise (buff or water bottle), and a drink and snack.
