Event Overview
The Wiltshire 10 is a 10-mile running event. It starts and finishes at the King George V Playing Field in Melksham. The route goes out towards the picturesque village of Lacock.
Location & Facilities
The event is based at the Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club within King George V Playing Field. Facilities include toilets and refreshments available for purchase. Two water stations are provided on the course, at approximately the 3.5-mile and 7-mile points. First aid cover is present.
Race Details
The race begins at 10:00. A short safety briefing is held beforehand. Participants must obey marshals at all times. All runners must be aged 16 or over on race day. Race entries are open until 1st January 2027 or earlier if the race limit is reached. No entries are available on the day.
Restrictions & Safety
No roads are closed for the event. Headphones, including bone conduction types, are not permitted for safety reasons. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed.
Registration & Logistics
Registration takes place from 08:30 to 09:30 at the Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club, where race numbers are collected. Numbers must be secured to the front of the runner's top and be clearly visible at the finish. There is no parking available at the club itself. Several council car parks are available in Melksham, and car sharing is encouraged.
Prizes & Finisher Items
Prizes are awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers, as well as for age categories V40, V50, V60, and V70 (male and female). All finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
