Event overview
The Cape Fear Holiday Run is the first annual timed trail event set for December 13, 2025, at Cape Fear Shiner Park in Lillington, North Carolina (350 Alexander Drive). The course uses a loop that is about 1.17 miles long and includes a short paved section alongside trail. The event offers multiple timed formats:
- 9-hour timed event
- 6-hour timed event
- 3-hour timed event
Logistics and services
The event is a fundraiser and all proceeds will be donated to the Harnett Food Pantry. Registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. Registration opens on January 1, 2025, and closes on December 10, 2025.
Organizers provide one staffed aid station with water, Gatorade, soft drinks, and snacks. The event is cup-less to reduce waste; participants are asked to bring reusable cups, handheld bottles, or hydration packs; limited disposable cups will be available. Electronic timing will be provided by a professional timing company. Parking is available and there is space for participants to set up personal aid stations near the start/finish. Porta-potties will be on site for 2025; permanent restroom facilities are planned for the future. Finisher medals will be given to everyone who completes the event, with awards for the top three male and female finishers in each timed event and a special award for holiday attire.
