Cape Fear Holiday Run
The Cape Fear Holiday Run is a timed trail running event held at Cape Fear Shiner Park in Lillington, NC, on a 1.17 mile loop that combines natural trail and a short paved section. The event offers three timed options: 9-hour, 6-hour, and 3-hour.
Participants have access to ample parking and space to set up a personal aid station near the start and finish. Organizers will provide one central aid station stocked with water, Gatorade, soft drinks, and a variety of snacks. The event is cup free as part of an effort to reduce environmental impact; runners are asked to bring reusable cups, handheld bottles, or hydration packs. Limited disposable cups will be available.
All finishers receive a finisher's medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each timed event, and there is a special award for the participant with the most holiday spirit. Electronic timing is provided by Clockwork Race Timing. Portable toilets will be on site in 2026 and permanent restroom facilities are planned for the future.
The event is a fundraiser for the Harnett Food Pantry, and all donations support that charity. Because proceeds go to the food pantry, registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. Registrations submitted by November 10, 2026 are guaranteed a T-shirt.
