Wildwood Turkey Trot
The Wildwood Turkey Trot, also known as the Trottinator, takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Grover, Missouri. Participants start at the racers village located at the Wildwood Farmers Market and traverse a course along the paved Wildwood Greenway. The route includes a crossing of the pedestrian sky bridge and passes through Wildwood Park.
The event offers several distances to accommodate different participants:
- 5k: A single lap course including a water and aid station.
- 10k: A two-lap course with recorded split times and aid stations at mile 2 and mile 4.
- 500 Yards: A free kids dash for those 10 years and under where participants follow a leader in a turkey suit.
The course is professionally chip-timed, and real-time tracking is available through a mobile application. The racers village features music, doughnuts, snacks, soda, and sports drinks. Registered participants in the 5k and 10k events receive a finishers medal, a soft-spun t-shirt, and a neck buff. Top finishers in various age groups, ranging from ages 1 to 70 and above, receive custom metal pins and awards.
In the kids dash, participants receive a race number and a metal finishers pin. The event also facilitates donations for the Rockwoods School District Cross Country program to support equipment and program needs for student athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
