Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra
The Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra is a trail running event in Lone Pine, CA scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026. It is organized by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce and has been held for 46 years. The event is presented as one of the longer-running trail marathons in the United States.
The course runs through the Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt. Whitney. Ten water stops or aid stations are positioned along the course. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- 10 Miler
Volunteers from the Lone Pine community, together with Chamber staff and board members, provide on-course and logistical support. The Lone Pine Chamber operates the event under a permit on the Inyo National Forest.
Event policies include a no refund rule; until 30 days before the race a 50% credit toward the next year's event registration fee is offered for those who withdraw. If the event is canceled for reasons such as pandemic, extreme weather, or other force majeure, neither refunds nor credits will be given. The final route is subject to approval by government agencies and may change. Late entrants who enter three weeks or less before the race may not receive a t-shirt, and same day registration is accepted at the start. Registration closes on Thu, Apr 30 at 11:59PM PT.
