Event Overview

The Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra takes place in Lone Pine, California. It is described as the third oldest trail marathon in the United States and has been hosted by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce for 46 years.

Race Courses and Distances

The event is a super scenic trail race that goes through the Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt. Whitney. The following distances are offered:

Ten water stops or aid stations are positioned along the course.

Organization and Registration

The event is operated under a permit on the Inyo National Forest. A team of volunteers from the Lone Pine community, along with Chamber of Commerce staff and board members, supports the race. Registration is handled via UltraSignUp. The event has a no-refund policy, but a 50% credit towards the next year's registration fee is offered for withdrawals made until 30 days prior to the race.
