Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra
The Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra is a trail running event held in Lone Pine, CA. It is described as the third oldest trail marathon in the United States and has been hosted by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce for 46 years.
Courses traverse the Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt Whitney. The event offers multiple distance options:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- 10 Miler
Ten aid stations or water stops are positioned along the course. The Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce operates the event under permit on the Inyo National Forest. Volunteers from the Lone Pine community, along with Chamber staff and board members, provide on course and event support under the race director.
Policies include no refunds. Until 30 days prior to the race a 50 percent credit toward next year s registration fee is offered through UltraSignUp. If the event is canceled due to pandemic, extreme weather, community disaster, or other force majeure, neither refunds nor credits will be given. The final route is subject to approval by government agencies and may change. Late registration entered three weeks or less before the event may not receive a t shirt and registration closes the Tuesday prior to the race, with same day registration accepted at the start.
