Wild & Mild Night Run
Wild Running stages a night trail event at the South Brent Old School Community Centre in South Brent, UK on 27 February 2027. The event offers two distance options across trail and open moorland terrain.
- 9 miles: mixed trail and moorland route via Dartmoor and Brent Hill.
- 5 miles: shorter cross terrain route splitting from the main course.
The course is marked, and participants are advised to carry a device with the route or an OS map. The event features the King and Queen of the Night who act as a beacon on the route, with a prize for the first runner who beats them.
Catering is available with warm food, tea, coffee and muffins provided by Really Wild Coffee. After the run there is live music and a shared sauna at the Old School Community facility.
9 mile route description: the first three miles follow the river to Shipley Bridge with mainly uphill running and brief descents. A tarmac section leads onto Dartmoor, passing Avon Dam and crossing below Abbot’s Way, then heading toward the Harbourne head and exiting near Dockwell Farm. The outward leg returns via Brent Hill and Lydia Bridge, where the ground can be muddy.
5 mile route description: starting from the community centre, runners follow the 9 mile route toward Shipley Bridge, then split to climb a hill and continue on mainly tarmac and paths, returning to race headquarters via Didworthy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
