Wild Goose Trail Festival - Ringwood, NJ
The Wild Goose Trail Festival is a multi-day trail running event taking place the weekend of September 19-20, 2026, with related activities on the preceding Friday. The festival has relocated for 2026 to Ringwood State Park after the originally planned host park was unavailable.
Events include a long-distance 100 mile race with a 36 hour cutoff and a range of shorter trail distances. The festival schedule includes panels and a film screening on Friday and running events across the weekend. Free camping is available to registered participants, pacers, and crew on Friday and Saturday evenings.
The festival partners with the nonprofit Bigger Than The Trail, which uses trail running to support mental health and to provide free therapy through fundraising. Sassquad Trail Running offers hardship entries and a Trail Mix Fund partnership to help waive registration fees for under-served and under-resourced community members. Several discount options are listed for active duty military, veterans, teachers, hospital workers, older participants, and certain trail organization members.
