Wild Goose Trail Festival : Ringwood State Park, September 19–20, 2026
Wild Goose Trail Festival is a multi-day trail running event organized by Sassquad Trail Running and scheduled for September 19 to 20, 2026, with associated activities on the preceding Friday. For 2026 the festival has a temporary location at Ringwood State Park in Ringwood, New Jersey, after the originally planned host park could not accommodate the event.
The festival program includes trail races that span a wide range of distances, evening panels and a film screening, and free overnight camping for participants, pacers, and crew on Friday and Saturday evenings. The 100 mile event has a 36 hour cutoff. The event supports the nonprofit Bigger Than The Trail and partners with the Trail Mix Fund to offer fee assistance for under-resourced participants.
A family-oriented kids program offers a one mile race for ages 3 to 12; children receive a medal and sticker and parents or guardians may join without additional cost. The festival also provides several discount and assistance programs including reduced entry for certain community groups, hardship entries that can lead to full or partial scholarships, and a community care deferral policy that allows deferral for up to three years.
