Trail Running in Northern Minnesota
The Wild Duluth Races take place over a weekend in October within the city limits of Duluth, Minnesota. Organized by Adventure Running Co., this event focuses on trail running through natural terrain. The courses utilize the Superior Hiking Trail, which is characterized by its rocky and rooty surfaces. Participants navigate paths that offer views of the city of Duluth and Lake Superior while moving through a landscape designed to feel remote and wild.
The event features four distinct distances held across two days:
- 100 km ultramarathon held on Saturday.
- 50 km ultramarathon held on Saturday.
- 13.1 miles trail race held on Sunday.
- 10 km trail race held on Sunday.
The races take place at Bayfront Park. Participants in the 100 km, 50 km, and 13.1 miles events receive unisex long-sleeve shirts. Those participating in the 10 km distance are provided with short-sleeve shirts available in specific men's and women's cuts. This long-standing event is entering its 18th year of operation. Registration typically closes on the Monday preceding the race weekend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
