Wild Duluth Races : October 17–18, 2026, Duluth, MN

The Wild Duluth Races are a weekend of trail running held in Duluth, Minnesota, along sections of the Superior Hiking Trail. The event program includes multiple distances run on rugged, rocky and rooty singletrack with elevated viewpoints of the city and Lake Superior. The races pass through the Duluth city limits while traversing wild-feeling trail terrain.

Distances include:

  • 100K ultramarathon
  • 50K ultramarathon
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
  • 10K trail race

Start and finish locations vary by race and include Bayfront Park, Oldenburg Point Picnic Area, Chambers Grove Park, Munger Trail trailhead, and Spirit Mountain. The event began with the 50K and 100K in 2009; the half marathon was added in 2010 and the 10K was added in 2019. Course updates introduced in 2019 moved the half marathon start and finish and added a section that climbs Elys Peak, which is included on both the half marathon and 10K courses.

The event offers a combined challenge that pairs a Saturday race with a Sunday race for WILDMAN and WILDWOMAN recognition. Volunteer discounts on entry fees are available for participants who volunteer at adjacent race events. Shirt styles vary by race with unisex long sleeve shirts for the longer distances and men’s and women’s cuts for the 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
