Wilcox Wild Ultra 50K - Stony Creek, NY
This event is a 50K (about 31 miles) trail ultramarathon through the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest inside Adirondack Park. The course is a lollipop route that starts and finishes at Harrisburg Lake and follows East Stony Creek Trail to Hope Falls, then the Murphy Trail to Willis Lake, out to Wilcox Lake, and back to Harrisburg Lake.
The course lists 3028 feet of elevation gain and 3028 feet of elevation loss. Terrain is mostly trail with minimal gravel and pavement. Two fully stocked aid stations are located at miles 11.5 and 23, and there are multiple opportunities to filter water along the route. All runners will receive a catered post-event barbecue.
Due to logistics, participants must provide relevant experience and will be added to a wait list for review; entries are moved from the wait list after review. Organizers expect runners to complete the race in under 10 hours 30 minutes and state that all runners will have 10.5 hours to complete the race. Registration closes on Sun, Aug 23 at 11:59 PM ET.
