Wilcox Wild Ultra 50K

The Wilcox Wild Ultra 50K is a trail race through the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest in the southern Adirondack Park, New York. The course is a lollipop-style route that begins and ends at Harrisburg Lake and travels deep into wilderness terrain.

The route follows the East Stony Creek Trail toward Hope Falls, connects to the Murphy Trail, and passes Willis Lake on the way to Wilcox Lake. The 31-mile course (31 miles (50K)) has 3,028 feet of elevation gain and is mostly trail with minimal gravel or pavement.

Terrain features include rocky singletrack, rolling climbs and descents, forest roads, quiet trail corridors, and technical sections. Three fully stocked aid stations are located at mile 11.5, mile 23, and mile 26. Runners also pass natural water sources where filtration is possible, and should be prepared to manage nutrition and hydration between stations.

Because the event takes place in remote wilderness terrain, organizers review runners before adding them to the roster. At registration runners submit prior running or fitness experience and are initially placed on a waitlist while their information is reviewed. The field is intentionally small and the event partners with the Warren County Radio Club for race day communications. Runners should expect to complete the course in 10 hours 30 minutes or less. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
