Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon and 10K 2027
Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon and 10K is held at Avondale Forest Park, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow. The event uses a looped course that combines country roads and hardcore-surfaced forest trails and starts and finishes at Avondale Forest Park. The race is chip timed and all finishers receive a medal. Walkers are welcome on the 10 km.

Participants who register are provided with an online fundraising page. Funds raised support Wicklow Hospice and contribute to palliative care services for patients and families in County Wicklow. The event materials note that across three hospices (Harold’s Cross, Blackrock and Wicklow) there is a shortfall in state funding of €5.5 million annually. Wicklow Hospice is described as a purpose-built 15 bed facility offering specialist palliative care; patients can be cared for in the hospice or in their own homes.
