Wicked Wine Run – Galway Downs
The Wicked Wine Run takes place at Galway Downs in Temecula, California. This event combines athletic activity with wine tasting in a festival atmosphere. Participants must be at least 21 years old to attend, and age verification is required during the check-in process. The venue provides space for participants to bring foldable chairs or blankets to utilize before and after the scheduled activities.
The event offers two primary distances:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 km tasting walk
The 5 km course includes two water stations and utilizes a wave start system where groups depart every few minutes based on pace. Those completing the 5 km receive a finisher medal and a glass of wine at the finish line. The 1 km tasting walk is a separate event that features three sampling stations along the route, with a final fourth wine sample provided at the conclusion of the walk.
The festival grounds include various amenities such as food trucks, a merchandise tent, and an after party. The program features music, games, and contests for costumes and dancing. Registration for both distances includes a race bib and an event shirt. Parking is available on-site for a cash fee.
