UCAPS Who Let The Dogs Out 5K
The UCAPS Who Let The Dogs Out 5K is an athletic event held in El Dorado, Arkansas. The primary purpose of the race is to generate funds for the Union County Animal Protection Society (UCAPS), which provides food, medication, and rehoming services for abused and abandoned animals. The organization operates through donations and community fundraising efforts.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5k Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Walk
The course for both events begins at 201 North Jackson Street. The 5k route proceeds down North Jackson, turns right on Faulkner, and left onto Madison. Participants run to the dead end of Madison before turning around to return to the start. The 1 Mile walk follows a similar path but turns around at 3rd Street. This shorter distance is open to participants who wish to walk with their leashed pets of any breed, age, or size.
Registered participants receive a t-shirt, with sizes guaranteed for those who complete their registration by May 18th. Awards include trophies and medals for the top three overall men and women finishers. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in specific age categories, ranging from 12 and under to 60 and over. The 1 Mile walk also provides medals for the top three overall finishers for both men and women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
