Whitney Lab 5K - Saint Augustine, FL
The Whitney Lab 5K takes place on April 19, 2026 at River to Sea Preserve Trails in the Town of Marineland, Saint Augustine, Florida, with an in-person trail 5K and a virtual 5K option. The in-person course uses the Matanzas Hammock Loop and is composed of three loops that together approximate a 5K distance. There will be a sign at the start of the loop but no mile markers. Post race refreshments are provided.
Entry is limited to 200 in-person participants. Registration windows and fees are: February 1-28 $35, March 1-31 $40, April 1-17 $45; day of race in-person registration at packet pick up is $45. Virtual entry is $45. A shirt and medal are provided to all participants; preferred shirt size is available to those registered by March 18. Registrations from March 19 through April 19 will receive a large shirt size. Virtual shirts and medals will be mailed after April 19 with an estimated 2 to 3 week delivery period.
Parking is available at River to Sea Preserve near the race start, at the River to Sea Preserve beach parking lot, or at the DEP Marineland Field Station; public parking is also available at the Whitney Laboratory about 1/2 mile from the start. Awards are given to the top overall male and female and to the top three in each age group: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and above. A free kids fun run will follow the 5K.
All 5K proceeds go to the Whitney Laboratory gift fund to support community lectures, public education, facilities improvements, public events, and student experiences at the lab. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
