Whiterock Ultra : July 25, 2026, Whiterock Conservancy, Coon Rapids, Iowa
Whiterock Ultra is a trail ultramarathon held at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, Iowa. The event features two official race distances:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
The 50K follows three loops named Red, White and Blue and has about 3,000 feet of climb. The 50 mile course uses two Red loops, two White loops and one Blue loop and has about 5,000 feet of climb. Runners pass through two fully staffed aid stations repeatedly, with aid access roughly every 7 to 8 miles. Cutoff windows are posted as total race-time limits for each distance.
The race is based at River Campground within the 5,500-acre Whiterock Conservancy, which offers roughly 40 miles of trails and public recreation along the Middle Raccoon River Valley. Proceeds from the race are donated to Whiterock Conservancy annually.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance and all finishers receive a unique award. Overnight options near the event include on-site camping, cabins for rent and nearby bed and breakfasts. The event website and athlete guide provide course maps and loop descriptions.
Organizers maintain an inclement weather policy that allows race officials to delay alter or cancel the event and to use alternative gravel routes if trail conditions require it. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
