Whiterock Ultra offers two trail distances at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, Iowa. The event is organized around three named loops - Red, White and Blue - with published loop lengths for some segments. The Red Loop is listed as 7.6 miles and the White Loop as 11.6 miles. Race distances are composed of multiple loops: the 50 mile course uses three Red Loops plus one White Loop and one Blue Loop, while the 50 km course uses one Red Loop, one White Loop and one Blue Loop.
Course previews and group training runs, including loop-specific preview runs and a Camp Whiterock weekend, are held at River Campground (1314 Fig Ave, Coon Rapids). Camp Whiterock is described as a free, multi-day opportunity to run the full course and experience night running; it concludes with a Blue Loop training run.
Race operations include published athlete resources such as a race profile, map and GPX files, an athlete guide, cutoff and aid station information, and stated inclement weather procedures. Awards are handcrafted in Iowa from reclaimed barnwood; registrants who enroll by the organizer deadline will receive a personalized plaque listing name, date and distance.
