Whiterock Ultra - Coon Rapids, Iowa - July 25, 2026
The Whiterock Ultra is held at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, Iowa. The conservancy is a 5,500-acre nonprofit land trust along seven miles of the Middle Raccoon River Valley and offers about 40 miles of trails. The event supports the conservancy; proceeds are donated back each year.
Race formats include:
- 50K: RED, WHITE, and BLUE loops, approximately 3,000 feet of climb.
- 50 Mile: two RED loops, two WHITE loops, and one BLUE loop, approximately 5,000 feet of climb.
There are two full aid stations positioned so runners pass through one roughly every 7 to 8 miles. Course support, loop descriptions, and turn-by-turn directions are provided by the organizer. Custom awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance and all finishers receive a unique award.
The conservancy offers on-site camping for a fee, cabins for rent, and nearby bed and breakfast options within a 15 minute drive. Additional lodging and restaurants are available within a longer drive.
Race officials may delay, alter, or cancel the event in case of severe weather to prioritize participant and staff safety. In such cases aid station support and award eligibility may be affected and entry fees are nonrefundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
