White Squirrel Trot 5k Run/Walk
This is the third annual running of the White Squirrel Trot, a Thanksgiving-themed community run and walk in Oberlin, Ohio. The event features two in-person distances: a 5k run/walk and a 1-mile walk.
Both in-person events start and finish at Tappan Square in downtown Oberlin. Participants receive a handmade stoneware pottery medal featuring a white squirrel design. Early registrants can choose between a tech or cotton long-sleeve event shirt, subject to availability.
Awards are presented on a rolling basis after the finish. Categories include first overall female and male, first overall masters (age 40+) female and male, and top three in various age groups. Timing is by gun start.
Registration for the in-person events opens on October 7, 2026. An early packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the event at the White Squirrel Clayworks studio. There is also a virtual participation option where the participant packet is mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
