White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay

The White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay takes place on the southernmost section of the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail in Michigan. The event follows an out and back course that begins in Comstock Park and heads north to Russell Road before returning to the starting location. The route covers a total distance of 26.2 miles.

Participants have several options for completing the distance:

  • Marathon Relay: Multiple team members combine to cover the full distance.
  • Solo Full Marathon: Individuals may register to run the entire distance alone.

The course utilizes a paved trail that is routinely plowed and features very few low-traffic crossroads. For participant convenience, parking lots and bathroom facilities are located approximately every four miles along the route.

The event is primarily designed as a relay, and event materials are branded accordingly. Participants who choose the solo marathon option should note that the course is unsupported and transportation is not provided by the organizers. There are discounted registration options available for those who do not require a shirt or medal, typically offered after the primary gear ordering deadlines have passed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
