White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay : Comstock Park, MI
The White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, beginning in Comstock Park on the southern section of the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail. The event offers two options: a team relay and a solo full marathon. Teams combine to cover the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles along a course that runs 13.1 miles north to Russell Road and returns south to Comstock Park.
- White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay - teams share the full 26.2 miles
- White Pine Thaw Solo Full Marathon - solo runners cover 26.2 miles unsupported
Teams register under a team name; the first registrant is the captain and additional members join that team. There is no limit on team size, but all 26.2 miles must be covered and participants may not run short out-and-back sections together to satisfy the distance. Teams are responsible for their own logistics and transportation.
The course follows the White Pine Trail and crosses public roads; the course is not closed and participants must judge crossings for safety. The trail is routinely plowed by Friends of The White Pine Trail. Accessible parking lots and bathrooms are located roughly every four miles. Suggested exchange zones, with water and bathrooms, are Rogue River Park in Belmont, Rockford Shoe Depot in Rockford, and the Russell Road parking area. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Third Nature Brewing with limited pickup available on race day. All participants receive a finisher shirt, custom medal, meal and drink ticket for Vitale’s, race discounts, raffle entry, and free photos by StellaFly. The event will be cancelled only for lightning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
