Event details

The White Horse Half Marathon takes place on 29 March 2026 and is organised by volunteers from the White Horse Harriers athletics club. The event is a chip-timed half marathon. Entry fees are in the range of £27.00 to £30.00. Entrants must be aged 17 or over on the day of the race. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, delay, modify or postpone the event for reasons outside their reasonable control and may retain all or part of registration fees in those circumstances. Refunds are not issued for entrants who cannot attend; entry transfers may be considered when the event is not full, but transfers are not permitted within two weeks of the race. Volunteers are recruited for marshalling and other duties.

Course and logistics

The course runs through the Vale of the White Horse on quiet country lanes and passes through the villages of Denchworth, Lyford and Charney Bassett, starting and finishing at Grove near Wantage, Oxfordshire. The route is described as level and rural. A map and a GPX file of the course are available. There is free parking for the race and full details of race headquarters, parking and other logistics are sent to entrants nearer race day. Public transport to Grove is limited on Sundays; the nearest train station is at Didcot, about 10 miles away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
