White Deer Triathlon - Boulder Junction
The White Deer Triathlon is a multi-sport event in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, scheduled for May 16, 2026. The course combines paddling on Boulder Lake, a bike loop on paved local roads, and a run that includes both roads and a forest trail. Event types include individual competitors and a three-person relay where each team member completes one leg of the course.
Distances:
- 3 km paddle on Boulder Lake
- 22 km bike on paved roads
- 6 km run on roads and a forest trail
Mandatory safety equipment is required for specific legs: personal flotation devices must be worn for the paddling leg and helmets are required for the bike leg. Kayaks with pedal drives incur a 45-minute time penalty. Restrooms and portable toilets are available at the Boulder Junction Community Center, Camp Manito-wish YMCA transition area, the Boulder Lake boat landing, and Winter Park. Rental partners for paddle and bike equipment are listed by the organizers.
Awards are given by age category for individual entrants and to top relay teams; all athletes who finish receive a participation medal. Registration packages include a participation medal, short-sleeved performance t-shirt, refreshments and post-race snacks, a goodie bag, a welcome dinner, and an awards ceremony with an after party. Race officials monitor weather and may stop or modify the event for visible lightning, severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings, or high winds that create unsafe water conditions.
