Whiskey Row 5K
The Whiskey Row 5K is an annual running event held in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. It serves as the opening leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running series, a long-standing local tradition spanning over 40 years. Participants follow a fast-paced course through the city's historic districts, passing landmarks and the various breweries and distilleries that define the area.
The event offers a variety of participation options:
- 5 km (in-person)
- 5 km (virtual)
The in-person race concludes with a gathering outside Louisville Slugger Field. Registered participants receive several items, including a race bib, a finisher's medal, and an exclusive wearable item. The course is fully supported with aid stations, and professional finisher photos are provided. After completing the course, participants have access to refreshments, including donuts and craft beer for those of legal age.
In addition to the individual race, the event supports community initiatives, specifically benefiting the WHAS Crusade for Children to assist children with special needs. Runners can also participate as part of a group or as part of the Triple Crown series challenges, which involve completing three local races of varying distances. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual running option is available to allow participation from any location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
