Reindeer Romp 4k Run/Walk - Louisville
The Reindeer Romp is a four kilometer (about 2.4 miles) run and walk on the Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park in Louisville, scheduled for December 5, 2026. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and serves as the first leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a three-race winter series. Each race in the Polar Bear Grand Prix awards a finisher medal that fits together with the others to form a larger series medal.
Event registration includes a long sleeve race shirt (subject to change), a finisher medal, free race photography and photos with Rudolph, age group awards, and awards for Overall, Masters and Grand Masters. The event offers a team challenge, a costume contest with multiple categories, a virtual participation option, and a packet mailing option for an additional fee. If a participant raises $150 or more for the event charity partner Olmsted Parks Conservancy, the entry fee is waived.
Pre-race packet pickup and race day packet pickup with late registration are available at the Stegner Pavilion at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park. Parking around the Scenic Loop is limited; organizers advise carpooling or parking farther around the loop and caution against parking on the grass, which may result in a ticket or towing. Register by 11/25/2026 for packet mailing before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
