About the race
The Reindeer Romp 4k Run/Walk is scheduled for December 5, 2026 at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park, Louisville, KY. The event is a Four Kilometer (2.4 miles) run and walk held on the Scenic Loop and is listed as part of the River City Races Run the 502 series. It also serves as the first leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix winter series.
Registration options include an in-person race and a virtual 4k. Entry amenities and features listed for participants include a long sleeve race shirt, free race photography and photos with Rudolph, a finisher medal, age group awards, awards for overall, masters and grand masters, a team challenge, and a costume contest. The Polar Bear Grand Prix and Run the 502 series both use finisher medals that connect across races: completing the three Polar Bear Grand Prix races produces a combined medal, and completing six Run the 502 races earns a Run the 502 finisher medal with charms. The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge accepts teams of three to five people in male, female, or coed divisions; the fastest three on each team are scored and the coed division must include at least one woman. There is no extra fee to enter the team challenge.
