5th Annual Whisker Walk/Run
The Whisker Walk/Run is a community event held at the Shelby Park Riverview Pavilion in Nashville. It serves as a fundraiser for True Rescue, a cage-free facility that provides care for cats and kittens. The event features multiple participation options for runners and walkers:
- 10K (Timed)
- 5K (Timed)
- 5K (Untimed)
- Virtual 5K/10K
The course is located at 1964 Davidson Street. Participants who register by the specified deadline of March 22, 2026, are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt in their selected size, along with a cat ear headband. Leashed dogs are permitted to join participants on the course.
The event site includes various activities such as music, food trucks, a bake sale, and vendor booths. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K categories. Awards are also given to the top male and female finishers in several age brackets, ranging from 18 and under to 60 and over. Additionally, a prize is recognized for the most creative cat-inspired outfit. After the conclusion of the races, the True Rescue shelter offers tours of its 7,000 square foot facility.
