Whiptail Duathlon - Vail

Event Format
The Whiptail Duathlon is a multisport event held on trails. It features two different event formats: Run-Bike-Run and Bike-Run-Bike. For each format, there are two different distance options. Relay team options are also available for all distances.
Distances
The event offers eight different race options.
Run-Bike-Run format:
- Whiptail Sprint Duathlon: 1.5 mile run, 10 mile bike, 1.5 mile run.
- Whiptail Super Sprint Duathlon: 1K run, 3.4 mile bike, 1K run.
Bike-Run-Bike format:
- Whiptail B-R-B Sprint Duathlon: 6.6 mile bike, 1.5 mile run, 6.6 mile bike.
- Whiptail B-R-B Super Sprint Duathlon: 3.4 mile bike, 1K run, 3.4 mile bike.
Relay team versions exist for each of the four individual race options listed above.
Course Details
The event takes place at the McKenzie Ranch Race Course near Vail, Arizona. The course uses the Hohokam, Lozen, and Daheste trails. The trail network is described as technical with rolling hills.
Additional Information
Parking is available on-site. The event is timed by On Your Left Timing. Post-race refreshments and awards are provided. Registered participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
