Event Format
The Wheal Jane Duathlon is a run-bike-run event with a unique two-stage format. All participants first compete in qualifying heats. The total race distance for the heats is a 2.5 km run, a 10 km bike leg, and a 1.25 km run. After these heats, the fastest 50% of overall times advance to an 'A' final, while the slower 50% go into a 'B' final. Everyone then races their respective final leg (again the 2.5 km run, 10 km bike, 1.25 km run distance) to determine the winner.
Venue
The event is held in collaboration with Wheal Velocity Cycling Club. The cycling portion takes place on their traffic-free racing circuit at Wheal Jane. The run course uses purpose-built tracks around the wider Wheal Jane grounds.
